THE FORMAT

How the Tournament Works.

Single-elimination. Two-night bracket. Sixteen comics enter, one walks out the Halifax Roast Battle Champion.

    Sixteen Comics

    The bracket opens with sixteen comics drawn into eight head-to-head first-round matchups.

  2. 02

    Two Nights

    Friday runs the Round of 16. Saturday runs the quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship final.

  3. 03

    Joke for Joke

    Each battle is two comics trading prepared roasts back and forth — no breaks, no excuses.

  4. 04

    Judges & Crowd

    Each battle is called by a panel of judges plus an audience vote. Winners advance, losers go home — last comic standing takes the belt.
